One Layer Mask

Poppy inspiration from my garden (last picture). I used Stampin' Up's Pleasant Poppies on Whisper White, colored in markers and shaded with inks. Second stepped up picture is the oval masked off and then embossed with Pool Party powder and En Francais stamp. For the mask paper, I use parchment paper. It is thin enough to get good, flat, even stamp coverage and you can tape it down easily to your work surface without areas missed around the edges. Cardstocks and heavier papers always leave gaps when I try this technique.
