Valentines

This week's Speedy's Friends challenge at Mark's Finest Papers calls for valentines. I made a quick little valentine with the Hearts Hearts Hearts set and inserted it into this clear plastic sleeve of this little musical singing teddy bear. Too cute when his little cheeks light up! Also for February I made a calendar page for my refrigerator.

Girl Bunny

A card of encouragement, I used the bunny image from Mark's Finest Papers In The Forest set colored in Copic markers. The designer paper is Basic Grey Infuse, Pretty In Pink, Riding Hood Red, and Soft Suede cardstock. Paper rose unknown. Pink satin ribbon from MFP also. The sentiment is from Occasional Quotes by SU.

We are doing a mini virtual stamping day today and my challenge is to make something sweet. Chocolate, cakes, cupcakes, anything yummy! This new cupcake set is available in the Occasions mini with a matching punch. I used the little stamps to create a background on the Crumb Cake panel. I used a part of the flower from Elements Of Style and the sentiment from Style Beautiful, Springtime Vintage paper. All supplies are Stampin' Up.
This is for a color challenge hosted by Julie where she has challenged us to use Baja Breeze, Elegant Eggplant, Pear Pizzazz and Peach parfait. I used a little of the peach in my flower center with pale yellow. Please join us if you can and let me know where I can find your card so I can leave some love!

Life Is Beautiful

Tuesday's SCS color challenge is Riding Hood Red, Eggplant, and Soft Suede. I used my treasured Toile Blossoms from SU (retired) and Life Is Beautiful sentiment. The coasters are a match to the card and I will probably gift them with the card when I have an occasion of some sort. The coloring feathered a little before I sprayed the sealer/gloss but I was okay with the look of that.

Virtual Stamp Night

Here are my projects for the February mini VSN going on over at Splitcoast. The first is a color combination of Cherry, Regal Rose, and Kiwi Kiss with this sketch and the flower to be made of punches. All supplies are Stampin' Up except for ribbon and vine.
The second is to make a heart shaped card. I used Webster's Pages heart die cut with their ribbons and lace. The stamp set is Sew What from Mark's Finest Papers. Hopefully I will get a chance to do the other challenges tomorrow.
Okay, well it is "tomorrow". Adding the third entry which called for intertwined hearts. The retired Hearts jumbo wheel had these and also this old retired SU set with the swans. I can't remember the name of this one, I stamped some images before selling it years ago. All supplies are Stampin' Up: cardstocks of Blushing Bride, So Saffron, Cool Caribbean, Whisper White, and Very Vanilla.

CAS Sympathy

Our Speedy's Friends challenge this week at Mark's Finest Papers is to make a sympathy card. I made a clean and simple one layer card using the flowers from Brick Wall and the sympathy sentiment from A Walk In The Woods. Embossing strip by Cuttlebug.

Many Thanks

A combination of three challenges: Today's idea to use repeat word stamping, I chose the many thanks sentiment from a retired SU All Year Cheer set in gradient shades of pinks (the Ways To Use It challenge from yesterday)and a previous color challenge. I used red for the Paisley background stamp, Melon Mambo, Pretty In Pink and Cherry Cobbler. The only non SU item is the little paper rose in the center of the blossom.

Baja Breeze based embossed with Sizzix folder, Kiwi Kiss was substituted for the Pear. Embellished with Baja seam binding ribbon, Adornments rose, and Ice Rhinestone circle brad. Mark's Finest Papers Blog Hop Day 3

My Sew What sample uses the spool, button, and sentiment images from this great set. Perfect for anyone, especially the seamstress. I used to sew a lot before I discovered stamping and became obsessed with that :) The cardstock base is MFP Florida Peach, the paper is retired SU Raspberry Tart, embellished with a real tape measure that I no longer used.

Mark's Finest Papers Blog Hop Day 2

My first sample uses the beautiful Pink Freeze Sparkle Finish paper and pink satin ribbon. I colored the pansies in Copic markers.
The second uses Dark Chocolate and Morning Sun cardstock with the bees stamped as a background. I added a bit of sparkle to their wings.
This is a fabulous, versatile set for year round use and all occasions.

New at scrapbooking

An attempt to begin scrapbooking, I started with the new sketch from ODBD and used the Brocade background stamp. This is a picture of my son from about four years ago with his robot valentine mailbox from school. I just wanted to pick a picture to try out the 8" x 8" page size and so on. Random scrapper that I am, I know I should get everything in chronological order first but I probably would never get it all done that way :) I have done a couple of pages in my life and am not cozy with it all yet but hope to learn as I go. It's just a bigger card, right?

Mark's Finest Papers Blog Hop Day 1

My sample today is a calendar page displayed on a wood easel. I used one of the beautiful Nature images from this lovely new set from Mark's Finest Papers called In The Forest. I colored the images in with my long neglected Prismacolor pencils. I thought the sentiment was perfect for a calendar (calendar is a download from SCS).

This is my last time to host the Splitcoast Color Challenge, the time went by so quickly and I hope you have enjoyed the colors I picked along the way.
Today's color are Cherry Cobbler, Melon Mambo, and Pretty In Pink. The dessert option if you so choose is to use buttons and/or pearls. If you don't have these exactly, you can use a light, medium, and dark pink.

Happy 2011!

I want to thank you for stopping by to visit with me throughout the year, it means a lot to me. I hope I can inspire you in some small way. I wish all of you the very best in the coming year. May it be a year filled with many blessings for you and your families.

I repurposed a Christmas card we got from the Seattle Theater Group for the cool sentiment and used Very Vanilla, Riding Hood Red, and Early Espresso cardstock embossed with Lattice Squares folder. Vintage/antique brads and butterfly sizzlits die all by Stampin' Up.
