Wooden Spool ornament

I came across a large bag of wooden spools at the local thrift shop and made my first ornament with a medium sized one. Simply cover it in designer paper, cut out some Stampin' Up! holly leaves in Crumb Cake from an older set, added pearls and Dazzling Diamonds. For the hanger, I flattened out an ornament top and curled it around the spool to secure.

Shadowbox

I re-purposed a box that contained a necklace for a quick 10 minute Christmas ornament project. Cut out the Santa from Home For The Holidays paper from Stampin' Up! Made a little tab to stand him up inside the box behind the clear acetate lid. Attached a silver cord to top.

Holiday projects

While the boys are watching some of their favorite shows, I finished up some projects I had hanging around on my desk. The first is some quick and easy gift tags using Stampin' Up!'s Peaceful Pines and Watercolor Wash for the background.
The second is a Santa tag, all non SU.
The third is a Japanese paper kusudama flower that I turned into an ornament using some silver cording, embellished with rhinestone snowflake.

Holiday headband

I have SO much ribbon and am always looking for ways to use it up. This is from Stampin' Up!, a cherry cobbler textured satin that I wrapped around a plastic band (3 for .98 at Wal-Mart). They were covered in a glittery stretch fabric that was easily removed and then I carefully wrapped the new ribbon around the band. The poinsettia silk flowers were from Michael's, the center was a snowflake rhinestone embellishment from last season. All set for the holidays!

Jumbo Jolly

I love Santa tags for children's presents, they always bring a smile. This Santa face is fabulous, a 5" by 4" image, Jolly Santa by Stampendous (as is the music sheet background stamp). Colored and cut out the Santa, added to a stamped craft colored tag, inked edges and added a Stampin' Up! sentiment (current). SU cherry cobbler ribbon added to embellish, little red flower at top is from three flower punch.

Card to tag

I have hundreds of Christmas cards that I've made over the years and am starting to repurpose some of them into tags. I just don't know THAT many people to send cards to this year. I used to give most of them to Operation Write Home but they have closed up shop. If you know of a charity that is looking for greeting cards, I would love to know so I can share my collection.
This was a Stampin' Up! snowman and sentiment, not sure of the snowflakes. The white letter beads are from Joann's. Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Going Gray, Cherry taffeta ribbon to embellish.

Saved scraps

This is another saved and scavenged from my mixed bins card, using the Regal Rose and Sage Shadow card with the stamped holiday sentiment. I found a snowman from Jolliest Christmas, colored him to match and added some Tim Holtz tinsel to frame it out. Very sparkly in real life!

Scraps Tag

I have boxes and boxes (and boxes) of bits of this and that, all waiting to be made into something. Stacks of stamped images, half completed cards, scraps of pretty paper, embellishments, the list goes on and on. It was jaw dropping to realize just how much I've managed to accumulate since I started stamping, I am still trying to organize it all from our big move in August. I'm sure I'm not alone in this out of control collecting, they keep coming out with new stuff and I just can't stop.
To feel better about it all I decided to try and complete some projects before my next major purchase. This tag with the Christmas tree was an ATC from a swap from many years ago. I don't know who made it, aside from "Denise", written on the back, or why I continue to save atc's. The craft color tag base is from a Tim Holtz insert card that held some kind of embellishments, too pretty to toss. I inked the edges with Tea Dye ink, added some Stampin' Up! sentiments and Sahara Sand lace ribbon.

Vintage Christmas

All supplies are Stampin' Up! except where noted. I really love this vintage Santa and girl image by Inkadinkado that I stamped in Brown Sugar ink on Crumb Cake cardstock, then inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress inks of Tea Dye and Old Paper. Highlighted a few parts of the image with Prismacolor pencils. Background is Christmas Collage on Naturals Ivory, Champagne glimmer paper and last year's snowflake brads with some retired ivory ribbon to embellish.

Dasher

Today's tags use the single Stampin' Up! Dasher stamp (retired) with various card stocks, ribbon, twine, and embellishments. I found an old Fossil watch box that is the perfect size to add the tags for gift giving. (Pictured below).

The following is an embroidery project of mine that I wanted to share, I love the vintage holiday toys!

More projects

I have had this snowman paper for years and it was in my donate pile, I changed my mind and retrieved it to make these envelopes.
The tags were today's design with a holiday stamp from Joann's.

Peaceful Pines

New Stampin' Up! holiday mini catalog supplies used were Peaceful Pines stamp set with coordinating dies. Soft Sky and Whisper White card stocks, white embossed snowflakes are from an older retired set (Trees Three) that seems too timeless to get rid of, I love the snowflakes and the sentiments on this one.

Never enough tags

I love giving tags to friends and family for the holiday season, it seems you can never have enough of these and they are so much fun to make. I try to do about about 8 a day, various designs. This cute gingerbread set is from Inkadinkado. Added lots of glitter and used a few different punches for edges. I hope you stop back, I'll be using some new Stampin' Up! holiday mini items that have been begging to be used.

Christmas card and tags

I stamped a sheet of this holiday sentiment in Pool Party and Indigo and made tags out of them (8 per sheet of Whisper White). New embossing folder shaded with pastel chalk, pool party taffeta ribbon to embellish. The tag is loosely adhered to the card with some dollar store foam adhesive which can be easily pulled from the card where there are two strips of adhesive tape waiting to be peeled off and attached to a package. Supplies are Stampin' Up!

Christmas album

I've been working on some handmade holiday gifts. This is an album/box that I decorated with Graphic 45 papers, Webster's Pages ribbon, chipboard tree, rosette made from same paper collection, with an antique brad from SU. On to the inside, which will be an accordion style photo booklet.

Ornament bundle

This card was made using the Ornament bundle from the Stampin' Up! Holiday mini. I used the new embossing folder on Crumb Cake card stock and swiped some craft white ink over the raised design. Stamped the ornament in a pale color and colored in the design with alcohol ink markers, cut with framelits ornament die, hanger in glitter paper. Stamped holly in Artichoke (matte framing same color), colored in leaves and berries. Cut a poinsettia out of Real Red and attached it with silver mini brads.

Tag Tuesday

Using up some scraps to make some Christmas gift tags, it's not too early to get started apparently. It seems the holiday season starts earlier every year, we were seeing Christmas merchandise weeks before Halloween. Sheesh.
I found this cute little gingerbread house stamp at my local thrift shop and I couldn't resist it. I love, love gingerbread anything :) Colored images with Copics and used Stampin' Up cardstocks, mini brads, tag top punch, and grosgrain ribbons. I am going to add some Dazzling Diamonds highlights to the roof and ground near trees.

Handmade Envelopes

It is so easy to make your own envelopes with pretty papers, these pumpkins will be for Thanksgiving cards I will be making this week. I unfolded an envelope and used that as my template, I will add a small white window for the address so I don't annoy the Post Office.

Batman

I simply could not resist this sweet little stamp set by Darcie Heater Designs. The matching pin buttons for the face made me smile and I think my Batman fan son will get a kick out of this. This card will go into his next college care package. I used SU Yoyo Yellow card base with one of their new black and white designer papers, border is Real Red and Basic Gray cardstocks that were punched with a Martha Stewart punch. Colored with Copic markers.

Christmas gift bag

Hello everyone! Hope you had a fun Halloween. We just got back from San Francisco and had a fabulous time, the weather was so beautiful. Excellent restaurants, lots of walking and exploring, my first cable car ride and a visit to Google in Mountain View. I found the cutest little mercantile store in Sunnyvale and was so inspired by all of their Christmas crafts and handmade items. I wish I took some pictures of their cute things, I forget what I saw by the time I get home :)
I picked up a sheet of Graphic 45 Christmas paper and made this easy Christmas project using a Stampin' Up! polka dot gift bag, vintage button with miscellaneous brads and ribbons from my studio. Sentiment from Penny Black.

Dove of Peace

I love this pretty new Dove Of Peace stamp from the Stampin' Up! holiday mini catalog. I kept this completely plain just stamping the image in Early Espresso and then coloring it in with the SU alcohol ink markers.

Thankful

A clean and simple card for today using Whisper White and Tangerine Tango cardstocks, Six Sayings sentiment in Early Espresso, Woodgrain embossing folder sponged with Crumb Cake ink. Leaf was from a stencil booklet I had on hand, using Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Real Red inks.

Woodland Rudolph

I used some new Stampin' Up! supplies to make this Christmas card today. Embossed the Woodland Texture folder on Cool Caribbean and colored trees with a few colors of brown markers, added some Dazzling Diamonds snow in the branches. Sentiment from Six Sayings in red, Rudolph cut from Home For Christmas paper and I added a bit of glue with Romantic Red glitter (retired) for nose. I like that this card is flat and won't require extra postage :)

Finally had a chance to make a card today! Yay me. This is for the Mojo Monday sketch using the new Home For Christmas paper from Stampin' Up! Love these vintage designs, so very cute! The sentiment is retired from the Carry On hostess set.

Timeless Elegance

Hello everyone! I've really missed stamping and posting but it was so hectic with the big move. I still have quite a bit of unpacking to do and haven't been able to find many supplies and weird little items necessary to get a decent card together and get a good photo of it. I had to take this one with my cell phone since I am still missing my battery charger for my good camera (it's probably in a box with my Kindle somewhere).

I haven't had the chance to use my new purchases from the new catalog yet but really wanted to do something with the new SU Timeless Elegance designer paper. This stuff is so pretty!! Went pretty basic and plain, the time was with all of the coloring so I kept the rest plain with just a bit of black and white baker's twine. Will be back with more as I uncover more of my stamping/crafting goodies.

So many changes

It is so hard to believe that this day is here already, I don't know where all of the time went. My Billy graduates on Tuesday and will be attending Western Washington University in the fall. My emotions are all over the place.  For his graduation picture I chose a modified version of the sample in the mini catalog using the Stampin' Up! Class of 2015 set on Night of Navy cardstock with pewter embossing.

Butterfly

All Stampin' Up! supplies were used for this card. Butterfly framelits die with Tea Shoppe retired paper, Vanilla base, Tangerine Tango accents. Embellished with Crisp Cantaloupe twine, naturals ribbon, button and flowery embossing folder from the newest mini catalog.

The Gifts of Spring

For the Just Add Ink challenge #255 for using eggs or ovals. I used the retired Stampin' Up! set The Gifts of Spring, colored in blendable markers. Painted Blooms paper on Pool Party cardstock with ruffled Coastal Cabana ribbon. Non SU sentiment.
I had a request for a closer view of the acrylic photo box frame stamp storage as seen in the shelf on my previous post. These can be stacked very easily and hold quite a lot of wood mounted stamps.

Spring Organizing

Still working on getting my studio into a more organized space... Today I alphabetized all of my SU cling stamps, organized my completed cards in the three bottom drawer units (birthday, thank you, Christmas and other holidays, thank you, and blank all occasion). The bottom shelf holds wheels, Nesties, paint brushes. Next shelf up are Sizzix dies and Big Shot plates in the baskets, miscellaneous stamps are in acrylic picture frames from Michael's.  Third shelf: more completed cards to be sorted later, punches and stamp cases, continued on next shelf up. Finally more wheels, plastic cases on top hold Christmas tags that I like to make throughout the year, glitters and embossing powders, ink refills, and some nested vintage canisters that I found on ebay.

Happy Watercolor

I was working on a project today using Stampin' Up!'s Painted Blooms designer paper from the Occasions mini and had a few extra scraps left over to create this super quick card. Banner framelits die with Happy Watercolor stamp set with Whisper White, Basic Black, and Daffodil Delight card stocks. Gingham ribbon is retired.

New Stampin' Up! supplies in the house today! Butterfly Basics stamp set and matching framelits dies. Popped up the butterfly (stamped in Cantaloupe and edges with Coral) and the sentiment. Whisper White card stock was stamped with leaves stamp in Olive and Garden Green, embossed with new floral folder from the Occasions mini, edges sponged with Saffron. Washi tape from SU also. The antennae are a florist pearl stem from wedding craft supplies.

Simply Wonderful SAB

For this week's Mojo Monday 387 sketch I used all Stampin' Up! supplies. Whisper White and Rich Razzleberry card stocks, Painted Blooms designer paper, Simply Wonderful SAB set, Blackberry Bliss stitched satin ribbon, Vanilla 5/8" flower trim colored with marker, Bird and Branch punch for leaves.

Look what I found!

My desk! It has been buried under an avalanche of stuff for so long I didn't know where to start. I organized my markers and coloring pencils in the drawer to make access easier. Maybe a neater work space will bring back my missing mojo. I have a big Stampin' Up! order coming in today and now I am ready to go! Thanks for hanging in with me in my absence :)

Hello There

I made this felt cell phone cover from a kit that I picked up at one of our local Half Price Books (love this place!). Using this project as inspiration I made this matching card with all Stampin' Up! supplies except for the thread. Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Gumball Green, and Very Vanilla cardstocks, butterfly punches, Fabulous Florets? and Secret Garden framelits dies. Hello There stamp set sentiment in craft white ink.

Something Borrowed Suite

The card is for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge this week, using the new SU Something Borrowed paper from the current mini catalog and the Bloom With Hope stamp set. Also used the new Sahara Sand lace ribbon, Basic Gray taffeta, and white stitched ribbons.
Using the matching embellishments, I decorated a crystal snowflake with this pretty little rhinestone and silver goodie with some pearls on a snowflake ornament from Rite Aid in the clearance bin. It looks so pretty in real life!

Painted Blooms

I love the Painted Blooms designer paper pack in the current SU mini catalog, there are so many pretty florals. It's nice when you can find a design like this that does most of the work for you. It's too pretty to cover up so your card stays fairly simple. I got 6 card fronts out of the 12"x12" sheet and used various Stampin' Up sets to complete.

For the Mojo Monday weekly sketch I used all new Stampin' Up! supplies, Lotus Blossom stamp set, Sahara Sand lace ribbon, Something Borrowed designer paper, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette cardstocks.
