Air Blown Flower

For the Mixed Media challenge and the Free For All to use red and yellow.
Used Adirondack alcohol inks on glossy photo paper (Lettuce, Honeycomb, Poppyfields, Watermelon, Terra Cotta, Espresso) and "hello" die cut sentiment. Dropped inks onto paper and blew out to edges with a straw. Fun and easy. I swiped some more ink with a cotton pad to even things out a bit. Added some Sharpie black and brown dots to flower center.

Another card for the Poppies for Memorial Day challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters.

In Monet's Garden

Today's challenge at Splitcoaststampers was to incorporate a photo into your project.
I took this picture this past Friday at Monet's Gardens in Giverny, Normandie. I was so overwhelmed with the beauty of this place, the inspiration for so many of Claude Monet's paintings. Absolutely the trip of a lifetime and one I will never forget. The gardens in May were incredibly beautiful and so fragrant.
The picture blurred a little bit when I printed it out bit that was okay, the colors were so much like this in real life. Added a simple sentiment and a frame (Bayou border) by Lawn Fawn.

Memorial Day Remembrance

This is for Memorial Day weekend and the perfect time to honor the memory of all those who have served and to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

This Pop Pop Poppy stamp is by Penny Black and I used Stampin' Up! markers of Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Garden Green for leaves, Poppy Parade, Real Red for flowers. Went over flowers with Arteza watercolor brush pens, I love these things! Highlighted around image with pale blue Copic and then ran through Big Shot with SU Wildflowers folder. Sprayed entire front with glimmer mist. Sentiment is popped up on dimensional tape and is by October Afternoon. Concord Crush, Poppy Parade, and Whisper White card stocks.

Lemon Cake

For the "Inspired By A Song" challenge at Simon Says Stamp.
We always used to blast this Beatles birthday song to our siblings on their special day. The inside of the card continues the song lyrics with "Happy Birthday To You".
All Stampin' Up! supplies were used for this: Cake Soiree stamp set and dies, wood dsp on Baked Brown Sugar.

Mermaid

For the Simon Says Stamp Challenge to use a stencil, I used a bubbles stencil with Moonstone Nuvo glitter paste.
The Technique Junkies Mermaid Tapestry stamp was stamped in three Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks and mounted to a piece of watercolor paper that was done with Brushos color crystals. Dry embossed with small circles folder before adding stencil/paste layer, a row of pearls and baker's twine and silver cording.

This set of cards is for The Paper Players Challenge with the theme of Blooms, clean and simple.
The second set of cards uses the same stamps in different color combinations. I always bring along a little container of either markers or pencils and some stamped images when I travel to help pass the flight time.

Bonjour from Giverny

I don't usually post non-card photos but I thought a little Claude Monet would be a perfect inspiration. There is so much beautiful artwork here in France, home of my favorite Impressionists (and featuring another favorite of mine, Van Gogh). I don't know whether to be inspired or intimidated by all of this, but I'm going to go with inspired and just keep creating things that make me happy every day.
Tomorrow - The Louvre!

Easy Party Pandas

A super simple birthday card using Stampin' Up!'s Party Pandas, stamped on Whisper White and accented with pinks. The second card shows a simpler CAS version, for the top I embossed it with a happy birthday embossing folder and added some balloons thinlits dies from SU. I found these in the Clearance Rack so they may be retired.

May the Fourth Be With You

Happy Star Wars Day!
Images are by Kindred Stamps, Washington. Background is watercolor paper with brushos color crystals of black, purple, and ultramarine. Added a couple of spritzes of Nuvo blue glitter spray, dots are gold Smooch accent paint and white gel pen dots.

Some new Nuvo goodies! I have developed a serious addiction to the whole line of Nuvo products, they are so awesome for so many different backgrounds and techniques. The jars of the embellishment mousses are my favorite, these are four of their new colors- French Rose, Toasted Almond, Coastal Surf, and Custard Cream. Yum. An easy way to use these is just to rub it on white card stock and then proceed with your card. If stamping use a non-smear ink like Memento Tuxedo Black and the lightly heat set with your heat gun. What a shimmer! Try out one to see if you like it, they last a long time. If I had to pick just one it would be Mother of Pearl.
