This week's challenge from Simon Says Stamp is to add some text. I used the Mountain Horizon Dies and the Handlettered Greetings dies for the hello (retired).

My altered playing card for the week with the following prompts: The *opposites* are day and night or sun and moon, *two cards* that were glued and stitched on with the *buttons*. Supplies used were from Hero Arts- the galaxy stencil and the sun and moon dies in gold and silver along with the sentiment. The background piece behind the sun was packaging from Tim Holtz Idea-ology that I painted over lightly with "Peeled Paint" distress paint and some gold paint from Viva. I can never throw anything away!

Week of July 12th to 18th

Hello all, hope you are having a lovely summer so far! We had a really great weather week here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, cool in the mornings and in the 70's later in the day. The coming week is going to be a hot one, I saw a 93 coming up. Perfect time for a trip to the movies.

I am still on the Christmas in July train with these two cards using my Spellbinders July Club kits. The first card above features the bonus items of Candy Cane Swing and Merry Bear with the glimmer foil plate called Festive Forest. It's a movement card, the candy cane swings back and forth!

This card features last year's glimmer plate "Magic Wonderland" in silver with the large die of the month "Merry Shuffle".

Week of Cards

Aloha, summer! The dies for this are called "This Way To Raimbows" from the Spellbinders June club kit. Very easy to assemble!

A Christmas in July project featuring "Warm Christmas" by Simon Says Stamp.

 Digital stamp and paper is "Patriotic" by Vera Lane Studio. Shaker frame is Whimsy Stamps, filler is by Buttons Galore & More.

"Aloha Hula" dies are also from Spellbinders June club. She is on an action wobble so she does a little shaky-shake. The background panels were created from various distress inks and gold spray.

Holiday Wreath is by Honey Bee Stamps, embossed in gold and colored with Copic markers.

Biology Class

 The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is for Back To School with Studio Light. This is for science or biology class! Studio Light "Romantic Forest" paper for background with Tim Holtz Ideaology ephemera, center butterfly is by AALL & Create.

Beachy Christmas

 For the Lawn Fawnatics challenge of "Summer Splash" I have a cute little Santa off on vacation. Hawaii, maybe. I used Beachy Chrismas stamps and tropical frame die. I made the background with acrylic paints, a very easy way to make a scene.

Hula Penguin

 These delightful hula penguins are from Spellbinders (June Club Kits). I love the Island Style 3d embossing folder which was made using Fawn card stock and Lisa Horton "Warm Chestnut Shimmer" and Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze".

Weekender Go Wild

This card kit from Spellbinders was fabulous fun! The Weekender 2026 "Go Wild" collection has you covered with fabulous dies, rub ons, stamps, and paper ephemera. I look forward to creating many tropical scenes and incorporating it with other sets. All of these cards were designed by Spellbinders wonderfully talented team. Great, easy to follow tutorials!

Be True

 

This week's Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp calls for masculine themed projects using Tim Holtz. I made an altered playing card with Tim's stamps, stencil, and sentiment. The background was created with tissue paper with gold paint and then embossed with the hexagon stencil in gold paste. The top hat was covered in clear glaze.

Going Wild

 Hi, hope you are having an awesome week! The weather has been so uncertain lately, hot one day and cold and rainy the next. Today is one of the nice ones so I may have to spend some time outdoors on garden maintenance. I always fancied myself a gardener but have come to the conclusion that is quite a lot of work and I'm having a hard time keeping up with. I will just do the best I can!

These cards feature more from the Spellbinders Weekender kit. The first card is made from a five layer tropical leaves stencil, the bird is from the paper embellishments pack. I cut it out a little closer to the edges since it felt like too much white border.

The second card was from Yana Smakula's youtube tutorial. Lots of colorful layers for the toucan.

Color Cube Inspiration

I love the Color Cube system by Sarah Renae Clark, it's a great tool to get you started with some lovely color combination inspiration. This card used the layering stencils from Honey Bee Stamps and the sentiment is Simon Says Stamps "XL Birthday Greetings"from a previous Stamptember.

 This colorful summer card used Crafter's Companion stencil "Summer Scene" from the Garden Gnomes collection, beach chair and umbrella are from an older Spellbinders large die of the month that was one of my favorites and a definite keeper. The sentiment was a free die that came with a Papercrafts magazine.

Weekender 2026

 This year's Weekender 2026 kit from Spellbinders is pretty wild! Jungle, tropical themed dies, stamps, and other goodies that are really fabulous. For this oversized card that is a little larger than a business size envelope, I used the waterfall and leopard die sets. Looking forward to the upcoming event at the end of May. Snag a kit before they're gone and join the fun! This is my second event and I'm so pleased with everything about it.

Happy Mother's Day!

 Thinking of my Mom on Mother's Day and all that she did for us. I can't imagine how difficult it was with six children and I wish I could have her back for even a few minutes to thank her and hold her close. 

 This beautiful photo of her was used for my altered playing card that was made with Tim Holtz distress oxide inks, Stamperia stencil with gold texture paste, Hero Arts frame and rub ons sentiments. Embellished with some crystal roses and butterflies. 

 Happy Mother's Day to all of the Moms and caregivers!

Lucky Shamrocks

 Today's Monday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp calls for a Bit of Green. I used Tim Holtz paper and I'm not sure who made the bottom paper piece, shamrock die, and paper rolls made from retired Stampin' Up! paper. This is an altered playing card and was really fun to make.

Joy Ride

 Hope you will bear with me for a bit but I am smitten with the AALL & Create stamps right now. They make me smile! This is for the Make It Cute challenge for Wednesday at Simon Says Stamp found HERE.

I used the Nomad Wheels dies that are great for SO many scenes, Ginger's Gingerbread and Winter Is Magic stamps.

Springtime

 These are the projects I've been working on for various challenges. The playing card challenge for the week is to use the prompts of Purple, pink, magazine, weaving, text, vellum, black splatter, and spots. Whew! I got all of them on here.

The next two are for the AALL & Create Fanatics Memorydex, one for a nature theme and the other vintage. AALL & Create stamps and dies used for both.

Peeking Bunny

 Hero Arts Peeking Bunny and Wood Fence cutting dies, sentiment is by Trinity Stamps. Created for the Wednesday Simon Says Stamp challenge found HERE.

Art Meowseum

 

A jumbo sized playing card that was altered with a page from a vintage Walter Foster art book, Art Meowseum stamp by Hero Arts that I followed using the original painting colors. Other prompts for this challenge were metallic, purple, flowers, scribbles, and white splatter. The frame id a die from Honey Bee Stamps that I cover in Simon Hurley's "Gold Rush" lunar paste and the went over with Tim Holtz Black Soot distress oxide ink.

Cat Lady

 AALL & Create supplies for the wheels challenge on Simon Says Stamp found HERE.

I used the Nomad Wheels dies and Free Broom Rides stamps. One cat short of crazy!

Ace of Hearts

 I'm enjoying the altered playing card challenge, I feel I have enough in my crafting stash so I don't have to buy anything new to participate. The prompts for this week were shaker box, sheet music, black mark making, flower, turquoise, and light blue. Got them all on there!

Scarlet Tanager

 For the Pop Of Color challenge at Spellbinders I used Post Card Hello hot foil plate and Nature's Frame layering stencils. I'm ready for Springtime!

Classic Car Birthday

 Happy birthday to my wonderful husband, Jim! This card uses all Spellbinders.
