On A Pedestal

The inspiration word for the Clean and Simple challenge today was "delicious". I used the cake from Stampin' Up's On A Pedestal, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White cardstocks, inks of Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Soft Suede, and Riding Hood Red. I stamped a row of cherries on the bottom of the card.

More Virtual Stamping today!

For Patty's Soaring challenge I chose the Sweet Centers hot air balloon image with a jelly bean filled treat cup. I had to add a passenger (image from Window Dressing) because I got a smudge of red ink there and I had to cover it. I had already sponged on the clouds in Cool Caribbean and didn't want to do THAT again :) Sentiment is an oldie from SU's Mixed Greetings set.

Faux Cloisonne technique.
I used a magazine advertisement for chocolate cherry crunch oatmeal for my design. The flower petals are a stamp from Heartfelt Creations embossed in gold. The red glass marble is darker in the photograph and looks more like the cherries in the picture in real life. The red card base was pre-made from my stash and was embossed with Mark's Finest papers Frames & Flourishes stamp set.

I love how the little stamp on the bottom matched the larger one. Small square is SU's Cute By The Inch (hostess set) and this is the first time I have used it.
Larger image from Mark's Finest Papers called Tweet Blessings with the requirements of one embellishment (pink gingham ribbon), and some yellow. Designer paper is retired SU.

I used the Flourished Sea Creatures set from Mark's Finest Papers on glossy cardstock with turquoise and Pacific Point inks. Cut out turtle and popped him up. Large Nestabilities frames also used. Stamped the bubbles stamp all along the edges of the white cardstock border.

This is the new sneak peek of the set Stinky Situation from Mark's Finest Papers available very soon in mid September. I used a textured wood grain plate on Soft Suede cardstock and swiped it with my Kraft pad. The white birches image was outlined in a pale blue and the skunks cut out and mounted over top.

The color combination was to use purple and amber. I chose Stampin' Up's Concord Crush with More Mustard using the Elements Of Style set.

This challenge was to use seashells in your design. My card base was from The paper Company, already embossed. I used Mark's Finest papers seahorse and sentiment from the awesome Flourished Sea Creatures set along with Stampin' Up's retired Stipple Shells. A classic keeper! Fern punch by Martha Stewart and the sand dollar I made from Sculpey clay and the sand dollar stamp from the Stipple Shells set.

Cherry Blossoms Inspiration

The dress is from our inspiration website today, Mod Cloth. They have so many beautiful things there, it's amazing.
I used the Kimono Kids and Eastern Blooms stamp sets from Stampin' Up. Cherry Blossom paper was from the art store. On Very Vanilla and Cocoa cardstocks.

Speedy's Friends Challenge

This week our challenge at Mark's Finest papers is to make a friendship card. I used the new sneak peek set of Thankful Mums & Pumpkin due out in mid September. I colored the pumpkins with Copics and made a water washed background with various inks and a spritz of bleach. Pumpkin brads from Making Memories.

It's Summertime Virtual Stamp Weekend!!

Come and join us for Virtual Stamping over at Splitcoast. The theme is Summertime In The Land That I love with all kinds of fun challenges posted. I am one of the hostesses this time so I have some samples already prepared and will share them here on my blog for you also. Hope you can play!

All supplies for this are Stampin' Up. I used the new Artistic Etchings set from SU along with French Foliage and En Francais background stamp/ I sponged Confetti Tan cardstock with poppy, Caramel, and Mustard inks to give it an aged postcard look.

Next we have a camping or nature inspired theme. I went with a very clean and simple design using the new Just Believe set from SU.

This is the wax paper resist technique using a Cuttlebug embossing folder. Tutorial can be found in the Resources section at SCS. Emboss a sheet of waxed paper with your folder, insert between two sheets of glossy cardstock and iron together. This will leave the embossed image on the glossy cardstock. I then brayered it with my retired Stampin' Up Kaleidoscope ink pad Cotton Candy which is various shades of pink. Central image is from the new hostess level 1 set Punch Potpourri and is layered with various Nestabilities shapes.

This is for the "window" challenge. Use any type of window image or technique.
I used SU's Window On The World image with Mark's Finest Paper's sentiment (from the upcoming set Thankful Mums & Pumpkin), and SU Autumn Spice Paper with Dusty Durango and Very Vanilla cardstocks.

This is for the summertime foods inspiration. The image is by Anita's Rubber Stamps and is colored in Copic markers. The designer paper is by Crafty Secrets. Ribbon, sentiment and embellishments by Stampin' Up.

Stampin' Up Snowman

This set is from last year's Snow Buddies set, a hostess selection. I used the new Candy Cane Christmas paper with the new embossing folder Northern Flurry. A quick and easy, clean and simple (CAS) card.

The Sparrow

This lovely sparrow and sentiment are from Our Daily Bread Designs, called He Watches Me. This is for the ODBD challenge to use a bird on your card by the lovely hostess Mary Marsh. I colored the image in Copic markers, added pearls and retired SU designer paper. Strip on side is the Elegance wheel.

I didn't have too much time for my designs since I was away on vacation but now I am back and ready to go!

I Got A Rock!

One of my favorite tv specials from my childhood was It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. I always felt bad for him every year when he got a bag full of rocks. As soon as I saw this cute little ghost image from the upcoming set from Mark's Finest Papers, I knew that this was what I was going to do with him. (Set is called Broom Rides and is available in mid-September).
I masked off the center ghost and stamped two more, sentiment is computer generated, ribbon and paper by SU. Drippy Goo punch by Martha Stewart.

Autumn Pears

Our challenge today at Speedy's Friends is to make a harvest themed card using images, fruits or the colors of fall. I used the Pears and Hollyhock set with Mark's Finest Papers cardstocks. Colored pears in Copic markers.

Autumn Mix Up

It certainly feels like fall here today with temps in the low 60's. I am still waiting for summer weather to get here in the Pacific Northwest but I guess those 5 hot days we just had were it!
Today's challenge on SCS was to mix it up using stamps from more than one company.
I combined the new sneak peek set called Autumn Fun from Mark's Finest Papers (available in mid-September) using the leaf and sentiment. Stamped the leaf in Tangerine Tango and shaded with pearlescent chalk pastels, embossed the sentiment in gold. I also used the French Foliage set from Stampin' Up on Confetti Cream cardstock in various colors of ink. I cut out two medallions from the new Autumn Spice specialty designer paper as part of the layout (Mojo100 sketch). Daffodil taffeta ribbon to embellish.

While I Wait

Another project that I did while waiting for my son at his piano lessons.
I had stamped a bunch of these flowers from Fifth Avenue Floral and cut them all out while I waited. The thank you card is a case from a Stampin' Success magazine but I changed the colors and sentiment. The flowers were colored using markers and some sponging. Sentiments are from Occasional Quotes.

Autumn Spice Gratitude

Playing with more of the new Stampin' Up goodies! This Autumn Spice specialty paper is really pretty and textured too. I think this one sheet can just about stand on it's own for a card it is so lovely. I used the Day Of Gratitude medallion that I had colored with markers and then cut out. Added some Saffron brads and Chantilly lace.
The other card was super quick. I stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede and used the large oval punch with the Sizzlits Lots Of Tags tag in Cajun Craze and some Daffodil taffeta ribbon. Both are on So Saffron card bases.

Owl Be There Blog Hop Day 4

Today's set is called Owl Be there and is tremendously versatile!! I used the owl and branch stamped in chocolate and a darker brown and the colored in with Copics (now available at MFP). The cardstock, sweet little charm and ribbon are all from Mark's Finest Paper also. Designer paper is Basic Grey Infuse.
The second project is a tile coaster. Owl was stamped in brown StazOn then highlighted with markers. I could have waited just a bit longer before applying the color, it streaked and feathered a bit. Heat setting with your embossing gun should speed up that process. Sprayed with a sealing spray and adhered cork backing to use as a coaster.

The designer paper is an older retired one from SU and the layout is from Card Patterns Sketch76. Hope you like it!

Day Of Gratitude

Trying something a little different with this new set. It looks much better in real life, it was hard to get a good picture of this. I gold embossed the images on espresso cardstock and highlighted the medallion with craft inks. Added rhinestone brad. Card base is Pear Pizzazz.

Sea Turtle for Vicki

My friend Vicki is the Featured Stamper at Splitcoast today! I cased this card from her design (she used a different background stamp and a tree frog instead).
I used the upcoming Mark's Finest Papers set Flourished Sea Creatures and colored the turtle with markers. I then added some Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds to the shell and popped him up on dimensionals. For the colors I started with a Whisper White 4 1/4" square card and stamped the coral and reed in Taken With Teal and Turquoise. I sponged in Mint Melody (remember that one?) and Cool Caribbean.
