Medallion

I was in the process of throwing this CD envelope in the trash when I thought hmmm, I can use this for a card! Just like any other envelope but with a cool bonus window. For the super simple Medallion card I stamped it in Soft Suede on Whisper White, matted with Bermuda Bay and an Ice rhinestone brad. Couldn't help but add some piercing to the edges. I know you must have an old CD sleeve around the house and can give this a try!

Vintage Ornaments 1 Stencils

Today's SU product focus is on the Vintage Ornaments 1 Stencils that can be found in the Definitely Decorative Fall Winter supplement. Their order number is 117580. The largest ornament is 3 3/4" x 6 1/2". I got most of this ornament on a standard A2 size card by eliminating the very top hook part. I think these will be cool to cut out and hang as regular ornaments, I turned mine into a card. I started out by sponging some Barely Banana inside the large stencil and adding some Apricot Appeal to the edges. I gave my stencil a quick rinse right after use for easy clean up. I then stamped the Cardinal Christmas (111760) in black right onto the ornament shape. Colored with markers and some re-inkers with aquapainter. Cut out and added some silver stretch cording (coming up in the Holiday mini) and a rhinestone brad. Popped this up on Stampin' dimensionals onto a Ruby Red card base that was embossed with the Finial Press folder #115963.

The second sample uses Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, and Basic Black cardstocks with Bermuda ink. When using the stencil, especially for this intricate design, you will want to hold the stencil down and pounce with ink firmly up and down. If you swipe it back and forth the stencil shifts more easily and the sponge gets caught in the template.

Greenhouse Garden

Inspiration challenges are my favorite kind. I love how we can all see something different in any given picture. For this Better Homes and Gardens room I was inspired by the grouping of pictures on the wall. I used Whisper White as my base with Barely Banana with the small outline of a flower stamped in matching ink. I made my own picture frames by punching a 1/14" square and then trimming evenly around the negative portion of it. The Greenhouse garden flowers were stamped with 1.Cameo Coral and Pumpkin, 2. Banana and Apricot, 3. Pretty In Pink and Melon Mambo. Adhered to a Bashful Blue background to make them stand out.

Lattice Die

Today's show and tell is the new Lattice Big Shot die #115958. I really love this one and can't wait to experiment some more with it. I wanted to play in the Inspiration challenge going on over at Splitcoast today and it called for some pink and green. I used the retired Raspberry Tart since I don't have too much in the way of the new current SU papers yet. I also used the Birds & Blooms Sizzlits #113485 and the Rose Red brads from the Rich Regals #106953. I hope to be able to highlight a new Stampin' Up set or accessory every day so I hope you will stop back often to see what's new.

Autumn Days

I was so excited to be asked to be July's Wicked Stamper in the Demo forum at Splitcoast. I posted some challenges there so if you are a demo I hope you will join in and post your creations. I would love to see what you make. I will share this one here, it is a sketch challenge using the new SU Autumn Days, new textured cardstock and Autumn Harvest rub ons, polka dot grosgrain ribbon.
This is my "go to" layout that is a pretty easy one and offers the
opportunity to use some of the designer series paper. The measurements for an A2 card (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") are 2 3/4" x 4" for main image, Designer Series Paper 3 1/4" square, 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" for panel directly on card base. You can add matting to each layer if desired.

This second card is for today's SCS sketch challenge. I was determined to use my Color Coach that has so long been neglected. I closed my eyes, gave it a spin and went with the color combination it landed on which was Close to Cocoa, Pixie Pink (yuk), Sage Shadow, and Barely Banana. Whisper White used for base. Circle Circus set new today from SU stamp set with brads.
